The objective of UNILEAD is to develop, organise and implement an innovative project within the organisational or personnel development frame. The course takes a blended-learning approach and covers three modules on Project Management, Strategic Management & Academic Leadership and Human Resource Management.
Dr Sophie Etomes is researching ways to revise leadership programmes and create new lines of inquiry and research streams in leadership: A need for leaders training for sustainable higher education productivity in Cameroon. Recently, she received an invitation to attend the hybrid UNILEADS Programme in Germany from January to September 20224.
UNILEAD is aimed at prospective young managers in higher education institutions from Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, South America, Mexico, Northern Africa, and the Middle East who are employed in central administrative bodies at their universities. Since 2008, nearly 450 university managers from 50 countries have already participated.
Etomes was selected as part of 25 participants from Bolivia, Cameroon, Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Namibia, Nigeria, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, Uganda, and Vietnam.
