The fellow, who worked with some Faculty members at UMI, developed a framework for developing the postgraduate diploma in climate change and sustainability management. The framework guided the discussions during a curriculum development workshop at UMI in early July 2024. The workshop was attended by 25 participants, including Faculty members and curriculum development experts, stakeholders from the Ministry of Water and Environment, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) and the School of Public Health at Makerere University. We also had some students from existing UMI programmes contribute ideas to the programme. The draft programme handbook has been submitted to the Department of Management for discussion and consideration, and hopefully, it will be approved and submitted for accreditation by the National Council for Higher Education in Uganda. The activity has been successfully done, though approval processes will take some time. As a fellow, my role was to take initiative and support the process, and I will continue to support it until the program is accredited and running.
