Dr Maramura developed her research instruments and established her research team.

She attended a research visit to Tengeru Institute of Community Development to engage with another FAR-LeaF fellow, Dr Agnes Kapinga, on Community Development and Climate Resilience (22-30 November 2025).

She has connected with the City of Cape Town via a Gatekeeper's letter and is awaiting feedback. When the Gatekeepers' letter is approved, an ethical clearance application can be submitted to the University of the Free State, and data collection can commence. She is also using contacts she met at the IWA congress in liaising with the City.

She attended the International Water Association Water and Development Congress & Exhibition in Thailand in December 2025, where she presented a paper and chaired a session. She made a research visit to Accra with Dr Enoch Agyekum, since he is part of the same research cluster on Climate Resilience and also engaged in Water Resources. She has co-authored three book chapters with Dr Agyekum.
