Writeshop | Transformative Research for a Transformed Continent

Aug 21
1 min read

Thirteen FAR-LeaF Cohort I fellows met for a Writeshop at Future Africa from 21-24 August 2026. Research fellows worked on their proposed book chapters for an edited volume on "Transformative Research for a Transformed Continent: Case Studies in Transdisciplinary Research on the African Continent."

The proposed book will present a collection of chapters by research leaders in Africa, showcasing the intersection of disciplines (multidisciplinary), industry, government, and civil society (collaborative), and all stakeholders (inclusive), and linking to global and continental research networks (transdisciplinary). Practical examples of issues specific to the research ecosystem, such as building linkages with policymakers, serving as an effective ambassador for science, and engaging with other role players and scientific communities to influence research and its resourcing, will be the focus of the proposed manuscript.
