Interactive playing-card toolkit on nature-based solutions and flood resilience

The main output was an educational magazine and an interactive playing-card toolkit on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and flood resilience. Ilala Municipal Council validated the tools, and they were launched and tested on 29 September 2026 with 20 Environmental Club members at Maroroni Secondary School in Arumeru District, in collaboration with teachers, the District Environmental Officer, the Community Climate Resilience Centre, and Tengeru Institute of Community Development. This provided useful initial feedback on the materials' applicability beyond Dar es Salaam.
A key challenge was ensuring that materials developed from the Dar es Salaam experience remained relevant in other settings. The main delay was the need for further adaptation, translation, accessibility improvements, and wider user testing before scaling up. This was mitigated by conducting an initial test in Arumeru and incorporating user feedback into the next phase, which will include a facilitator guide, Kiswahili translation, regional examples and testing in additional schools and councils.
