Dr Tham-Agyekum focused primarily on primary data collection and preliminary analysis during Year 1| Quarter 2. He worked on the survey (quantitative data collection) for farmers, focus group discussions (qualitative data collection) with farmers, and key informant interviews (with the radio station coordinator, traditional leader, religious leader, and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture).

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture facilitated the identification of farmers and community entry. District extension officers supported mobilisation, community sensitisation, and logistical coordination. Local community leaders assisted with farmer engagement and validation of community-level information. Enumerators were responsible for administering questionnaires, translating them into local dialects, and accurately recording data.

Following field data collection, the dataset was cleaned, coded, and entered into statistical software for analysis. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics of the data have been completed.

Dr Tham-Agyekum also attended, participated and presented a portion of his work (from the earlier field trial) at the Global Forum for Rural and Advisory Services conference in Senegal. One of his manuscripts has been accepted for publication after extensive revisions. He has applied to four conferences; two of his abstracts were accepted for presentation. Three Systematic Review papers were submitted and are under review. One systematic review paper is still in progress. One book chapter was accepted for publication. Three more manuscripts are in progress.

The main challenge encountered during the quarter is ethnic conflict in some parts of Northern Ghana. Reports of attacks led him to postpone some scheduled interviews with key informants.
